Nigerian singer Mr Eazi has announced his third single, titled "Advice," which is part of his upcoming album, The Evil Genius. The song, produced by Ghana's M.O.G Beatz, can be streamed and downloaded on major digital platforms. "Advice" has a dark and gritty tone and was created during a difficult period in Mr Eazi's life, as he witnessed the breakdown of some of his long-term relationships due to his success. The song also references African human rights champions such as Ken Saro-Wiwa, reflecting Mr Eazi's energy and inspiration.
The Evil Genius is Mr Eazi's debut solo album, which he has been working on for the past ten years. The album consists of 16 tracks and explores personal themes such as love, betrayal, loneliness, and family through three distinct acts. The title of the album reflects Mr Eazi's acceptance of the perception that he may have ulterior motives behind his business decisions. He aims to challenge this narrative through his music and let listeners form their own opinions.
In a unique collaboration between music and art, Mr Eazi has commissioned visual artists from across Africa to create physical art pieces representing each track on the album. For "Advice," he collaborated with Kenyan artist Alpha Odh, who created an acrylic painting that complements the defiant lyrics of the song.
To promote the album's release on October 27, Mr Eazi will hold multi-sensory exhibition listening experiences. The exhibition will debut in Accra, Ghana, during Accra Cultural Week and will later move to London, UK, as part of the 1–54 Contemporary African Art Fair at Somerset House. More cities will be announced in the future.
Additionally, Mr Eazi is featured in Vevo's original content series Ctrl, which supports the release of "Advice.
