| Dancehall artiste Bounty Killer |
Argumentative reggae and dancehall musician, Rodney Basil Price, known as Bounty Killer is facing backlash after saying that Afro-beats genre is overrated.
In an interview that is trending globally, Bounty Killer
confessed his inner belief that the booming African genre lacks lyrics.
“Afro-Beats have no lyrics. Its just a style, melody and the
topic.” archaic Bounty Killer said.
Bounty Killer cited Burna Boy’s Ye Ye Ye as an example. He said
that the song has no base, It’s just a beat and the melody.
The backlash came soon after the interview as one Twitter user
said “Bounty is crazy, did he listen to the verses? Burna Boy knows to
entertain while sending message.”
Another tweep said that dancehall artists are just jealousy
because Afro-Beats is taking over.
Meanwhile in a separate interview, Bounty Killer has
apologized to Burna Boy, Afro-Beats artists and the entire music fans for his remarks.
