Incomparable Rift Valley is home to the African Great Lakes. In addition to Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake on earth, and Lake Tanganyika, the second deepest lake in the world, they also include Lake Tanganyika, the world's second largest fresh water lake. The African Great Lakes are:
Lake Tanganyika
Lake Victoria
Lake Albert
Lake Edward
Lake Kivu
Lake Malawi
It is only Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, and Lake Edward that are considered African Great Lakes, since they are the main three that empty into the White Nile. Lake Tanganyika and Lake Kivu empty into the Congo River System, and Lake Malawi is drained into the Zambezi River by the Shire Waterway.
