The music trio, Noncebo Zikode, Zakes Bantwini and Wouter
Kellerman have won Grammy Award at 65th annual ceremony that took
place in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
With their hit song Bayethe, the three iconic musicians
scored a win for the Best Global Music Performance category.
The South African artists came out victorious over some
gigantic names in the music industry including Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Eddy Kenzo
from Uganda and USA’s Matt B among others in their category.
"I just want to say, we are coming from Africa, South
Africa. And this moment right here to anybody who's in Africa just proves and
affirms that every dream is valid." Said Zakes Bantwini in his acceptance
speech.
It was a fourth Grammy Award bang for 61-year flautist, producer and composer, Wouter Kellerman, while debut wins for both music producer, Zakes Bantwini and vocalist, Nomcebo Zikode
