Police in South Africa say investigations to find the assassins who have murdered Kiernan Jarryd Forbes popularly known as AKA are underway.
Police reports indicate that the Hip Hop icon was shot by two gunmen who came from the other side of the road, not a drive-by-shooting as many media outlets have reported.
AKA with another unidentified person was shot dead last night (Friday) around 10 pm in Durban outside YUGO Nightclub and Restaurant. His bodyguard was also wounded.
AKA has won multiple awards including being nominated twice in BET Awards for the best male act category.
The Hip Hop star performed at MUBAS last year in April.
