The Zambia Women’s National Team has concluded their 2023 Turkish Women’s Cup debut outing with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Uzbekistan.
The Copper Queens started the match with a strong dominating play but had to wait for the 10th minute to open the lead.
And in the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament, Zambia is in Group C alongside Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.
The tournament will run from July 20 to August, 20, 2023.
Meanwhile, speaking in an interview with Mafken FM radio, Zambia Sports Fans Association Patron Peter Makembo says he is elated with the performance the Copper Queens exhibited, stating that it clearly shows that the team is ready for the FIFA World Cup tournament.
Makembo has also encouraged the under 20 Men's national team to emulate the copper queens and perform well in the TotalEnergies under 20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023.
