South African songstress, Makhadzi is over the moon after
raked in Best Southern African Female artist of the year award at AFRIMA, a
ceremony that took place in Senegal.
Superstars from all angles of the continent attended the
awards on that were held from 12 to 15 January, 2023.
The MaGear song architecture, stormed social media platforms
with thankful messages to the fans who helped her to win the award.
“Congratulations, I made it. Your votes counted and thank
you for choosing me as your Best Southern African Female artist”
Other artists that won awards at AFRIMA including Adekunle
Gold who won Best African Pop song for his hit, “High”. Burna Boy won Best
African Act and Best Album at the event.
Rival Nigerian music giants, Davido and Wizkid raked in some
prizes as well. With Davido winning Best
Inspiration Song for “Stand Strong”, AFRIMA saw Wizkid walk home with best
African artist of the year.
