World’s football governing body, FIFA has slapped Senegalese Football Federation with punishment just a day before their team’s encounter with England in top 16 of 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This publication
has learn that the head coach of Senegal Nation Team, Aliou Cisse conducted
pre-match press conference in a match against Ecuador without a player in
attendance.
Rules of
FIFA clearly state that prior to each and every game, managers are supposed to
attend interviews with media houses in a company of one player from their
squad.
Before a win
2-1 against Ecuador, Cisse attended press conference alone, an act that
triggered FIFA to pour punishment towards Senegalese Football Confederation.
In a
statement, FIFA has confirmed fining Senegal $10,000 and a warning for
breaching article 44 of the Regulations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Senegal are
not only team to take a fine for this breach at this year’s World Cup, Germany
coach, Hansi Flick also attended press conference before a clash against Spain.
He said he did not want to force any of his players in a three-hour press
conference.
