| Senegalese MPs Fighting |
There was total chaos in Senegalese parliament after female member was hit hard by a male colleague in a session meeting that was enjoying live television broadcast.
The proceedings of the meeting were put on hold for hours after opposition member of parliament, Massata Samb walked to the benches of ruling party MPs to hit Amy Ndiaye Gniby.
Mrs. Gniby in her retaliation, hit him back with a chair just
before the house gone to total chaos. The chaos lasted a couple of minutes as
some members from both sides joined to exchange blows.
Sources indicate that chaos started when the opposition MP, Mr Samb reminded Mrs.Gniby about a ‘discourteous’ remark that she made earlier.
In her response, MP Gniby said, “I don’t care.” Mr.Samb then cut his speech, walked to her and hit her.
There has been a great tension in the legislative house since last
parliamentarians’ election where the ruling party lost its comfortable
majority.
