Kenyan boyband, Sauti Sol and Rwandan President, Paul Kagame |
Kenyan band Sauti Sol was granted a privilege to rub shoulders with president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame on country's "Car Free Day". A day dedicated to save environment.
On their social media platforms, the ensemble expressed how much they admire Rwanda and her leadership.
“Gotta love Rwanda man! So today we were invited to walk alongside H.E President Paul Kagame. This is ‘CAR FREE DAY’ in Kigali and it happens twice a month from 7 am to 10 am. The roads are blocked and citizens are encouraged to walk, cycle and run in order to promote a healthier lifestyle. And the people actually participate! How cool is that?"
Rwanda has of late become a global champion of healthy life style. The Car Free Day started in 2016, it was happening once in month in Kigali City only.

Later, in 2017 it was declared a national program after recommendation from Kagame and it was made fortnight event.
The Kenyan boyband was also given an opportunity to name a gorilla as part of nature cerebration, a thing that started in 2005. And too Sauti Sol met arguably Africa's greatest footballer of all time, Didier Drogba on the same function.
