To myself, all movie lovers and Barry Allen or Iris fans, the anticipation is over with the upcoming release of the last season of The Flash 9 in 2023. Great news right?
The CW disclosed that “The Flash,” will finish with season 9 and that “Barry Allen has arrived at the starting line for his last race.”
According to The CW, The Flash will finish after its ninth season.
The Grant Gustin-starring series about the DC superhero will have 13 last episodes, the network said on Monday, August 1.
Production gets scheduled to start next month, and the last season will premiere in 2023.
Nine seasons!" Nine years of preserving Central City while escorting spectators on a moving trip filled with compassion, humour, and spectacle. And Barry Allen has arrived at the starting line of his last race, according to executive producer Eric Wallace in a statement [reported by The Hollywood Reporter].
“So many incredible people have sacrificed so much. “It takes a lot of skills, effort, and love to produce this fantastic performance every week”.
“So, as we prepare to honour the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew for all the years who helped make The Flash such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world,” the show’s executive producer said.
We originally slated the Flash to expire after season 8, but after Gustin and some of his co-stars, including Candice Patton, received new contracts, this revived the show for a ninth season. The last episode of season eight, which was initially intended to be the series finale, but subsequently had to be rewritten by Wallace.
According to Wallace, who spoke to TVLine, “We had to rewrite it three different times”. Why? Because we had to have a lot more in-depth chats with Barry and Iris about the impending birth of their children because it was the series finale.
“The moment was much more romantic, and it was a little sexier. It pleased me”.
We’ve introduced several characters over the last couple of seasons, so there may be a future spin-off programme, he continued. I would advise the viewers to write to The CW if they have any ideas for spin-offs with characters we’ve presented in recent years.
But before I concentrate on anything else, I’m just going to keep my attention on The Flash for the time being.
Following the release of the next Flash movie, someone has recently rumoured that Ezra Miller won’t be returning to any more DC movies.
The Flash will officially end after its planned season finale in 2022–2023, joining the other drama series produced by Warner Bros. TV, Riverdale. As The CW, a network with a younger audience is being sold to station group Nexstar, who is close to a deal to gain it from owners Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios, the conclusion of both shows coincides with a decrease in the number of scripted originals airing on The CW.
The CW’s scripted lineup also includes All American and its spinoff, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Superman & Lois, Walker and rookies Gotham Knights, Walker: Independence, and Supernatural prequel The Winchesters. This marks the first time in over ten years that the network has cancelled more shows than it has renewed or ordered.
